January 5, 2006 Professor Sends Letter of Support to Iran's PresidentAn American professor at Northwestern University, Arthur Butz, has sent a letter of support to Iranian President Ahmadinejad. And Iran's media embarrasses itself again in this report of "world prominent" figures sending expressions of support to President Ahmadinejad after he was condemned for denying the Holocaust and then calling for another one to be launched against the Jews of Israel. All are Holocaust deniers themselves — A Frenchman, A New York—based Saudi, and an American professor who teaches at Northwestern University: Arthur Butz. Butz is the author of "the Hoax of the Twentieth Century" (referring to the Holocaust) and has a long history of anti—Semitism. According to Iran, Butz — writing from the US "state of Chicago" — wrote that he supported Ahmadinejad's "reasonable" remarks concerning the Holocaust.
said the professor, who also regretted that it was "not a Western head of state" who made such courageous statements. Ed Lasky 1 05 06 |
