Spain's Zapatero Snubs Colin Powell

By

As reported in today's Financial Times, Spain's new PM, purposely snubbed Colin Powell by making him wait for 30 minutes for their scheduled meeting. It took an angry message from Colin Powell, saying he would leave if he had to wait any longer, to make Zapatero wind down his chit—chat with his new best friend Jacques Chirac. Apparently Powell and Zapatero's meeting only lasted 15 minutes. Spain is doing quite a job of mimicking the cowardice, and now the arrogance of the French.
