Bachmann vs. the 'Fact-Checkers': Did Iran Threaten Nuclear Attack on U.S.?
In recent weeks, Rep. Michele Bachmann has repeatedly been "corrected" for claiming that Iran has threatened to use nuclear weapons against the United States and Israel. Her claim -- especially the part about the U.S. as a target -- first drew a negative reaction during her October 30 interview with Christiane Amanpour on ABC's This Week. Rather than ask Bachmann for specifics to support her allegation, Amanpour instead lectured her about her alleged error: BACHMANN: Iran has also stated they would be willing to use a nuclear weapon against the United States of America. I think if there's anything that we have learned over the course of history, it is that when a madman speaks, we should listen. And I think in the case of Iran, that is certainly true.
