Kill Bin Laden

Most people know that on May 1 of this year, America's Public Enemy Number One, Osama bin Laden, was killed.  John Weisman has written a riveting novel about the mission, KBL: Kill Bin Laden, A Novel Based on True Events.  Included in this book commentary is an interview by American Thinker with the author about the event and his book.  The book covers a timetable between December 2010 and May 2011 and imagines how events could have possibly unfolded, explaining the thinking and planning behind the mission.  Weisman commented that Harper-Collins called four days after the Abbottabad operation, asking him to write a nonfiction book.  He wrote a novel because there were facts that could not be presented correctly, such as private meetings where, for example, the only ones in the room were the head of the CIA and the JSOC.  To represent the points of view of those involved in the decision-making of the operation, the book became a novel based on true facts.
