Obama and the Morning After

By Robin of Berkeley
When pundits analyze why the masses flocked to the untested, mysterious Obama, they cite the usual suspects: anger at George Bush, white guilt, desire for some elusive change. But there's a missing ingredient here: sex.

Now I didn't vote for Obama.  When I see the dude, I ache, but not out of lust. However, millions have fallen under his spell and remain smitten.

While there is Obama Girl, there are also Obama Boys aplenty, like Chris Matthews and his tingly feeling up the leg. Sean Hannity did a hilarious send-up of male reporters gushing about Obama's pecs, to the tune of "Endless Love."

For a long while, it wasn't safe to wander over to a store's magazine section. Every other magazine, from Newsweek to Men's Health, featured Barack's well-toned bod.

Then we heard about the female New York Times reporter who blogged about her Obama sex dreams. Not to be outdone, hundreds of Times readers joined in to describe their reveries.

Some of my friends started acting like pre-teens when the O-word was mentioned. My chum Wendy literally kissed her Obama bumper sticker right before my unbelieving eyes.

Another gal-pal, Barb, who's generally apolitical, giggled with girlish delight after she watched the inauguration. She gushed, "He's the coolest man alive!"

Of course, the press sold Obama like the newest form of crack, getting the public fixated on his every word. The same media that stalks Angelina and Paris anointed Obama the ultimate celebrity. And to the addicted masses, entranced by leering reality shows and 24/7 texting, the Obama Show was just another sexually charged extravaganza.

But while reporters behaved like lovesick schoolgirls, Obama's sex appeal wasn't just manufactured by the press. His handlers carefully crafted his image to seduce and excite.

From the moment he arrived on the scene, Obama sent out a sexual tone. Suddenly, sexuality is in our faces, whether it's gay marriage, queering schoolkids, or elevating the transgendered to high places in government.

Not only has the message been sexual, but it's been sexually abusive. Sarah Palin has been denigrated and tea-partiers called lewd names. According to a couple of new books, Obama himself used sexually hostile, degrading language to smear the Tea Parties and Rush Limbaugh

I think that the hostile sexual vibe is partly Obama himself -- that is, the cavalier and vicious way he attacks any and all opponents. But it's also lifted from the Left's playbook: Corrupt society and keep the masses hypnotized and distracted.

Their sinister plan has worked: We have an addicted nation, manically seeking out their next fix. As conservatives, we have to figure out some way to snap the Obama Girls and Boys out of their virtual realities. They need to get a grip and face the morning after, as unpleasant as it will be.

If the masses remain enamored of the snarling, disdainful Obama, who is plunging us into ruination, then they're no longer in just an addicted relationship. They are also in an abusive one.

Because abuse is the inevitable consequences of staying with those mean Bad Boys and Girls. And those of us who've been there and done that know that this sick, symbiotic relationship always ends badly.

Your lights are on, but you're not home.

Your will is not your own.

Your heart sweats, your teeth grind. . .

Whoa, you like to think you're immune to the stuff

It's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough

You know you're gonna have to face it

You're addicted to love.

You might as well face it,

You're addicted to love.
