Emperor Obama's New Clothes

By James Lewis
What I want to know is, how did Hans Christian Andersen know about Barack Obama more than a century ago?  Because Obama is straight out of Andersen's classic fairly tale,  The Emperor's New Clothes. Old Hans Christian, who lived in Denmark from 1805 to 1875,  had Obama's number down pat.  All he needed was a good grasp of human nature.

Nothing has changed. Pretentious frauds still parade down the boulevards of Copenhagen and Washington, D.C., and only little kids notice their nakedness. Nobody dares to snicker, for fear of being called a bad name. (You know the bad name everybody is afraid of being called today.)

But there's no there there. Not a single, solitary rag of clothing. Barack Obama has the least amount of relevant experience of any major party candidate in the last hundred years.   He just makes it up as he goes along, with sublime arrogance. If he wanted to be interviewed for President of General Electric they wouldn't give him the time of day; but President of the United States? No problem! Obama is a total stage prop, a media fiction, a complete unknown, a rolling stone.

The Emperor is seduced by his own grandiosity; whenever he blows another elementary fact about the world, his staff just gives him a quick heads-up to tell him what to say next. He's like a bad actor who flubs his lines every single time, just expecting the others to give him his cues. And the ink-stained wretches of the media always give him a pass. Their editors would give them hell if they said anything bad.

Just one little example. On May 19 Senator Obama proclaimed Iran to be just "a tiny country."   That's a tiny country with seventy million people, half of it covered with mountains that you can tunnel under for your nuclear hidey holes. A half-million men in the army plus the fanatical martyrs of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, a domestic terror apparatus to keep the people down, a growing nuclear and missile program, enough oil to finance it all, a strategic position at the head and the tiny choke-point of the Persian Gulf, a long, long imperial tradition, and an Islamofascist suicide ideology, thanks to Jimmy Carter's good friend Ayatollah Khomeini. The regime of this tiny country had a habit of sending hundreds of young boys to blow up mine fields with their bodies, wearing green plastic "Keys to Paradise" around their necks. It controls the "Shiite Crescent" from Lebanon to the Gulf using its powerful alliance with Syria and Hezb'allah, supplied by our good friends the Russians and Chinese. The regime has a habit of blowing up American soldiers in Iraq with state-of-the-art shaped-charge explosives. Iran has performed high-altitude missile tests that could only be used to set off a nuclear EMP explosion, designed to cripple any modern nation by zapping its electrical and communication grids. It's just a "tiny threat," said Obama --- until his staff told him that wasn't quite right, and he quickly changed his tune

If George W. Bush had ever been  this blind, the media would have torn him into bloody shreds by now. We've seen them trying for eight years.

But the Emperor is protected from hard questions; when he blunders into them he just "uhs," "ahs," and stammers and stumbles. The media give him two or three guesses before he has to settle on his firm convictions -- for that day -- and then he flips again as soon as he feels like it.

This is sheer, open incompetence. Even Bill Clinton is saying it. He's right. Hell, half of the Democratic Party apparatus knows it. They aren't fooled. They're just hoping the rest of us stay fooled.

Obama's millions of immature O'bots are utterly self-deluded, but then they're not mental heavyweights anyway. The O'bots have their eyes shut tight, because looking at the reality of their idol is just too scary.

O'bots live in Hope and Hype; reality is not their strong suit. They just yearn to see His Imperial Majesty's royal crown, his purple robes, his golden sceptre, his bejeweled throne. But it's all self-hypnosis. Scratch the Obama thin veneer of hype for a second and it peels off before your very eyes.

Don't think the rest of the world doesn't know it. You can bet that Ahmadinejad and Vladimir Putin are getting complete reports from some very smart spies, including professional evaluations of Barack Obama and his madcap advisors. Dictators who live by destroying every possible threat are not in the business of getting those things wrong. As soon as they get the chance, they will push and push until the Obama mirage crumbles. That's what the Ayatollah Khomeini did to Jimmy Carter, and Jimmie is still trying to tell the world it never happened.  It's what Khrushchev and Castro did to John F. Kennedy. It's what Kim Jong Il did to Bill Clinton and Madeleine Albright. Every Democrat president seems to attract the biggest bullies, because they can spot an easy mark a mile away.

Just imagine what Hans Christian Andersen could do with this fairy tale. Trouble is, this story will turn into a real nightmare -- as long as the news media cover up for the most unqualified candidate in history.

We see him for what he is, alright. So do the media, so do his followers. They don't care because Obama was the only one against the Iraq war and that's qualification enough, thank you very much.

It's all about affirmation - the elitist Left has a congenital desire to see Bush discredited and electing Obama is their big 'I told you so!'. They don't want him to win, they need him to.

You're commentary is so utterly partisan that one cannot take it seriously. It belongs on the playground.

Totally on the mark! He is consumed by grandiosity, a pathological megalomania. Commentators on both sides remark on his keen intellect, but his is a second rate mind. He is not a thinker, or a scholar, or even a savvy politician. His judgment is so bad his handlers have to restrain him from putting is foot in his very large mouth. He is truly a Know-nothing.

But what is really scary is what is exposed when the false front drops. A bred-in-the-bone radical socialist, immersed in the Stalinist faith from the day of his birth. Infatuated with the father who abandoned him to return to Kenya to dedicate himself to the cause of Marxism, His sole focus since adulthood has been to gain high political status so he can CHANGE the USA towards becoming a Socialist Republic. He has held srictly to that purpose, studied nothing else That's why he is drawn to extremists like Ayers and Wright. That's why he is embraced by MoveOn.

Obama is The Great Pretender rolled into the Pied Piper.. And the Dems and the Press fall at is feet and HOPE to con America into putting him in the White House!

Excellent article. This piece needs to be in every newspaper in America. Before the nightmare unfolds, all of us need to help in getting the word out on the Big Phony.

We don't need Hans for this giant fairy tale. We have the MSM who have spun and weaved, have covered, cajoled, mis-reported, outright lied for this fraud of a candidate.

The MSM is either lazy or in the tank. I suggest both. They parrot what they are told just like Obama. There are no brave reporters to go out and do the dirty work of investigation, finding sources, verifying sources and mustering up the courage to report the TRUTH. It boils down to a lack of CHARACTER in the media complex.

Pulling the wool over the American eyes may be easier today for the MSM due to the lack of "real" education in this country. But I hope that the American voters wake up and look to the truth behind the facade and do their own investigating and make up their own minds based on what they find.

Lord have mercy in these dangerous times.

Correct - obama will not have any qualifications that Bush had in International affairs when he contested for presidency:

* Not knowing the name of the world leaders - (In 199, Pakistan & India were a few skirmish away from a nuclear war; Chechnya was waging a war for independence and Taiwan was confronting China)

* Confusing between Slovakia and Slovenia

* Inventing new races of people - Grecians, Kosovarians and East Timorians

* Unable to identify the difference between a dictator and elected head of state (Famous from his remark - "The new Pakistani general, he's just been elected -- not elected, this guy took over office. It appears this guy is going to bring stability to the country and I think that's good news for the subcontinent")

Also, Obama cannot match the superior skills of Bush IN OFFICE when elected:

* Confusing OPEC and APEC (hey, it's just a vowel issue!)

* Confusing Austria and Australia

* Calling Pope as "Sir" instead of "His Holiness"

* Queen Elizabeth II celebrating American bicentennial Independence day; Winking at the 80+ year queen!!! (seriously, why do you want to wink at the Queen!)

* Stating that people's better eating habits in India was causing global food shortage

* And who would state the following on a serious topic: "And so, General, I want to thank you for your service. And I appreciate the fact that you really snatched defeat out of the jaws of those who are trying to defeat us in Iraq"

* paying respect to a "dead" Nelson Mandela

* Misstating the name of the Spanish PM as "Ansar" (GOOSE) instead of Aznar

* Touching Angela Merkel's shoulder, drawing visible gasps from her

Obama & McCain - you would find it very difficult to follow the steps of Bush ...

Alas, such succinct and undeniable observations will, unfortunately be used as fodder for hindsight four years from this day, when we sweep up the tattered remains of our country. Much has been written by the left, of how Bush would destroy our country and world peace, and yet not a single terror attack on us or our interests in years, many years. James Lewis has written here what will be viewed as prophetic and God only knows just how many on the left will finally be converted once President Obama has plied his terrifying naivety and inexperience upon us in the coming years.
Many now on our side have echoed these sentiments, but this particular commentary distills our fears into the purity needed to look back in 2012 and answer the question, "how did this happen?"

Maybe it's not quite fair to expect Obama to have relevant experience in foreign affairs and to know the dangers posed by Iran and the difficulties of fighting in Afghanistan. Everyone has to set priorities. Today's first story in both the NYT and International Herald Tribune's online editions indicate pretty clearly where Obama's lie. Forget the fact that he has not performed the duties he is paid for (committee hearings anyone?), he had an event with bundlers that he just had to attend.

Gee - No clothes and a thin skin. He needs to flip flop on global warming lest he freeze to death.

Being that Barak Obama is an empty suit, in this case the clothes have no Emperor.

Hey Kaylan

Does Obama know the head of state of India? Has he addressed the pope? Does he even know the pope's name? I mean really, Umm How could President Bush wink at Queen Elizabeth II during the American bicentennial when he wasn't even president in 1976? How come you don't mention that Obama thinks his own country has 57 states and not 50? I do love Obama's energy plan. I'll think of him next time I check my tires and tune my truck up. maybe I should take out my official Jimmy Carter sweater to keep warm this winter, too?

I know you are a Bush hater, but at least get YOUR facts straight. Like the fact that the bicentennial was 32 years ago or that Bush isn't running.

"On May 19 Senator Obama proclaimed Iran to be just "a tiny country." That's a tiny country with seventy million people, half of it covered with mountains that you can tunnel under for your nuclear hidey holes"

Just for reference, and to further highlight the big O's lack of historical knowledge, the population of Germany at the beginning of WWII was about 79 million people.

Right, got it, "just a tiny country". Nothing to see here, move along now.

Kalyan, I thought paying respect to or honoring the dead was perfectly acceptable. After all why do you think we have a Memorial Day? Now to see the dead that's another thing http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uuxeXqjehUEr

President Bush has been in office almost eight years. I can't imagine the list that will be compiled after four years of an Obama presidency. No one will have to go scraping the barrel for winks, shoulder touches and bad pronounciations.
"Fifty-Seven states" and Senator Obama was still counting.

Kalyan,
THAT is just too delicious. For 7 years we've been listening to you libs tell us how stupid Bush is, and now the best thing you can think to say about your messiah, is basically "Hey, he's no dumber than Bush".
Thank you so much for that. I'm going to savor that one for a while.

Hey - Let me disappoint you all by saying that i am no Obama supporter. My personal take is that Obama is very lucky to be where he is today. He came to this situation because Hillary got knocked down by over-smart dems, her husband as well as a good contribution from her own mouth. As much as Obama is lucky to be here, so is McCain. Also, this election is going to belong to the Dems who are tired of Bush & his 8 years. And thus Obama - your mocked "Messiah" is going to POTR/C-in-C

My highlight of the list was to take a knock at the author for assuming that Bush was well versed in International Affairs when he became President. What else does the statement mean - "If George W. Bush had ever been this blind, the media would have torn him into bloody shreds by now."

My comments to the Author: Unless you just returned back from Mars or some other outer space planet, the media has torn into Bush for every mistake he has made (and there have been enough of them!)

Foreign affairs was never a strong asking point for any US presidential candidate. If there was equivalent media coverage in all US presidential elections, i am sure that there would be great number of gaffes committed by both republican and democrat candidates over all these years.

It is funny that you consider all Bush gaffes as minor & irrelevant mistakes while every one from Obama is sacrilege!

Bubba BBQ - This is exactly what Bush had to say: "The American people are proud to welcome your majesty back to the United States, a nation you've come to know very well. After all you've dined with 10 US presidents. You've helped our nation celebrate its bicentennial in 17.. - in 1976," Mr Bush said. MAYBE, IF YOU REMOVE THOSE I-LOVE-BUSH GOGGLES, BUSH WILL NO LONGER APPEAR AS A MESSIAH. He wasn't the president in 1976 but he made the reference to her visit in 1976 during the 2007 trip. I GOT MY FACTS correct, HOW ABOUT YOU?

Let me leave you with one other story: In the Bush Sr presidency, the Queen came visiting and Bush Jr was placed far off from the Queen during the official banquet. Barbara was worried that Bush might embarrass himself. And so he did. He walked upto the Queen and admits that he is the BLACK SHEEP of the family and asks her to identify likewise in her family. "That's none of your business" was the reply that he got.

JOsh --

So you dislike partisan?

Then you'd probably be more comfortable over at one of those sites that specialize in "fair and balanced" political analysis, such as Daily KOS, Huffington Post, or Talking Points Memo.

Do yourself a favor and hang out at one of those.

Obama is giving empty suits a bad name ...

He needs a couple of years of actual experience working as a Senator to even qualify as an empty suit ...

It has always been a big con job ... a smoother Al Sharpton ...

Regarding all of Kalyan's blather.

What - exactly - is the point that you're trying to make?

In your opinion, George Bush didn't have a lot of foreign policy experience, which led to bad foreign policy.

Ok.

So how does that make Obama's lack of foreign policy experience acceptable for a Presidential candidate?

Hey, Kalyan!

Are you smoking hashish or just eating it? Just curios.

The big difference is, none of us who have supported the President over the last eight years have claimed he is the "Messiah". He is just a man who, being imperfect, has made mistakes.

At this point, George Bush is not running for office. Barack Obama and John McCain are. Which of these two is best qualified to be President? The answer should be obvious to everyone.

Two points:

Back when Obama had just been elected to the US Senate (Nov. 04), he dismissed any possibility to run for President, claiming: "I believe in knowing what you are doing, when you apply for a job, now there may be some who [ would run anyway ] but I'm just not one of those people". In other words, he knew he did not have the necessary experience for the job.

When someone needs an MD, they go to the most experienced one they can find.
When someone needs a Lawyer, they go to the most experienced one they can find.
When someone needs a plumber, they go to the most experienced one they can find.
When you board an aircraft, everyone hopes the pilots are experienced.
The first question you get when you apply for any job is usually about your level of experience.
This is common sense, so why not apply the same standards to the most important job in America?

There's a difference between Bush's gaffes and Obama's. Bush isn't one the ballot, but this loser is.

"MAYBE, IF YOU REMOVE THOSE I-LOVE-BUSH GOGGLES, BUSH WILL NO LONGER APPEAR AS A MESSIAH."

Uh, Kaylan, I think the whole idea of us pointing out how Obama is seen by his followers (and maybe even himself) as a messiah is to contrast the difference between Bush supporters and Obama supporters.

You will be extremely hard-pressed to find someone supporting Bush in the same zealous, cult-like manner in which Obama is deified. Within the GOP, Bush never was held as some sort of redeemer by his supporters. That's a key difference between conservatives and libs: libs refuse to see when their emperor is be-bopping about town in his birthday suit, while conservatives are normally very quick to point out (real) shortcomings in their own leaders. Some of Bush's harshest critiques in the last two terms have come from his own side of the aisle.

That booming sound your hear is the point of this article breaking mach speed over your ill-informed, projecting little head.

@ Kaylan

I strongly suspect that you aren't a native English speaker and so this may be difficult for you to absorb, but I ask that you try.

You exhibit a tendency that psychologists and psychiatrists call 'oppositionalism'. What that means is that you have an element of your personality that compels you to take the opposite point of view from those who are in the majority, or those you perceive as an authority figure. A contributor to American Thinker says something, you automatically take the opposite point of view. I say black, you say white. I say po-tay-toe, you say po-tah-toe.

Recently, a new diagnosis for children was approved for the DSM-IV (the bible of diagnoses) called Oppositional Defiance Disorder. It's specific to children, but I've noticed over the past weeks that you show many of the diagnostic characteristics of ODD.

My advice to you?

Learn how to disagree without all the hand-waving oppositionalism and finger-pointing. It's not that hard, my friend. You might actually be able to conduct a civil debate with others if you do. I'm encouraging you to use the more mature elements of your personality to engage others, rather than to rely on the childish oppositional tactics you currently use.

Now you may be mad at my saying this, and that's fine with me, but that doesn't change the fact that this is something that you need to hear and someone needs to tell you.

Don't kill the messenger for the sake of the message.

This article has a creative & accurate premise, but it isn't well supported. Most of the article is name-calling & half-developed points. While I agree that Obama has much in common with Andersen's naked emperor, the author needs to develop his points better.

If you really want to point out Obama's blind grandstanding, try comparing reality to Obama-reality a little more. As a stand-alone article, the one point about his Iran gaffe wasn't enough to support your argument that neither Obama or the MSM are willing to face reality.

A little less name-calling & a little more supported argument would be seem less like a rant and more like a real argument.

Kaylan, what you are talking about regarding Bush is pretty retarded when you are talking about the potential security of a nation.

You may not be an Obama supporter, but you certainly seem to defend that joke of a candidate seemingly every time.

Say what you want about Bush, but HE got elected twice. He understands terrorism and the real threats of it, which is a good reason why we haven't been attacked again. And I expect the same security from McCain... NOT from any Democrat I have ever seen or heard of. Possibly McCain will be less of a gaffe-machine... but he would certainly be less than Obama. That guy can't even keep his lies and flip flops in check.

You may think you are the all-knowing dem, but your points are, and have always been, WEAK. You have been debunked and spit out on numerous occasions... but I see you still posting more weak and ridiculous liberal crap. I think it is funny, so keep it up. It is great when libs get in to it with conservatives. Libs have no chance.

Scott:

I'm happy these people come to this site. For every person that expresses his displeasure, how many don't?

How many are independent and might be persuaded?

And I hope that they are being persuaded by the fine group of writers here.

Keep your tires full.

: - )

Mojo's excellent line, "Being that Barak Obama is an empty suit, in this case the clothes have no Emperor" says it all.

The clothes indeed do not contain an Emperor. What they actually contain are the MSM's and all other socialist groups' hopes and aspirations for this country.

Think of BHO as simply a convenient mannequin for those clothes.

A little less name-calling & a little more supported argument would be seem less like a rant and more like a real argument.

Agreed, Silvera!

The only thing that needs to appear anywhere regarding Obama is this:

"When you're considering voting for Barack Obama, consider these facts:

Obama has NO EXECUTIVE EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER; yet, he is running to lead the most powerful nation in the world.

Obama has NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER; yet, he is running to be commander-in-chief of the most powerful military in the history of mankind.

Obama has NO FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER; yet, he is running to lead the nation whose actions/inactions directly affect the lives of every man, woman, and child on this planet.

Think about that."

Every word is "supported" FACT.

Kalyawn...and I do mean yawn. The point you miss is that your Messiah (and you will pull the lever for the demoncrat in Nov) and his handlers are saying he's the smartest thing since the dawn of time. Why won't he release his transcripts? Why not a copy of his birth certificate? Where's his thesis? Heck, he's so smart he married a woman who's so smart she claims she can do your job and mine and 10 others running at a mere 70%. Bush has never implied he was a genius nor that he speaks well nor that he is ever in command of all the facts. Bush made decisions. Obama voted "present". Early and often. While the Euroappeasers worry so much about protocol and who did what when...Americans couldn't really give a crap. We don't have royalty because we know that we are on a level playing field in the world. Everybody farts, Kalyawn. When you realize that, other people aren't so impressive and you don't need to or want to kiss their butt. Obama won't laugh at himself...you won't laugh at him....that's why we're laughing at you and him. Remember when the demoncrats boasted about Kerry's intellect...and his college GPA was less than Bush's? Guess not. Have to wonder what your messiah is hiding. Maybe that he got C's in International Relations classes. What was Obama's major again?

How'd he know? Obonga and his audience have been around since pen and papyrus. We are the latest installment of this long running play.

Man was not made to question, but adore.

A demagogue tries to sound as stupid as his audience so that they will think they are as clever as he is.

This is really an outstanding artical. However, I've read it and reread it and I can't find the racist thread.

There has to be one, doesn't there?

After all, if there was one in the McCain Hilton/Spears ad there has to be one in any item critical of "The Obama". (lol)

PC is Thought Control

I am studying Napoleon now and I am reminded of Obama. Napoleon grew up angry and ambitious. There was no limit to the power he wanted. Similar?

I have in the past listened to many of the media. After this election I will never trust the media again. I cannot believe they can look in the mirror and not be ashamed. They claim they want the best for the country, yet their bias will destroy it? If McCain wins it will be interesting as to how they will play that?

Fine article Mr Lewis, never miss them.

"When you're considering voting for Barack Obama, consider these facts:

Don't forget, George W. Bush was a business failure over and over... yet we gave him the top job!

Don't forget, George W. Bush was willing to fly the Texan skies... but not the Vietnames skies. And we let him start a war against Iraq!

George W. Bush was TUTORED by Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia so that he would know there were other nations outside of Texas. And we let him think he knew what the world needed!

If y'all took 5 minutes to think rationally, you'd understand why he is the biggest disaster to hit the White House.

Your moninker tells us volumes about you...just another face in the crowd with a gaping yaw called a mouth and fingers that fumble on the keyboard. Fortunately, for the time being anyway, freedom to be an idiot is still a freedom in the US.

Anyway, this article isn't about George W. Bush (who, to remind you isn't on any ballot). It's about Barrack Obama, a person who has the XY gene (I can't call him a man), who had only 143 days of experience as a US Senator, and barely a few more as a member of the Illinois / Chicago legislature. He does have experience in local politics, however, as he is a certifiable product of the Chicago political machine. In some circles that point on his resume carries more weight than any pedigree, be it academic, social or economic.

I just received today an e-mail announcing the availability of the Obama paper doll book (includes his wife & kids). To be balanced, the e-mail also announced the availability of the John McCain paper doll (includes his wife).

The Barack Obama paper doll...that says it all. Cut out the figure and use the tabs to dress it how ever you like. As I said, he's a product of the Chicago Machine.

Too bad the Chicago Machine isn't the Chicago Cubs.

The "emperor has no clothes" theme is right on. Interestingly it is the same theme that an atmospheric sciences professor from MIT (R. Lindzen)applied a few years ago in a presentation at Yale to the whole "global warming is manmade" bamboozle that Emperor Obama fully embraces and will impose on the United States, to our eternal economic disintegration, and Al Gore's personal enrichment.

Geoff,
I understand your frustration with Kalyan and I share it but I do not agree with your generalizations on foreign-born people. It is true that many of us are oppositionists by nature and that is why we came here. Most of my life I hated communism, and this hate was a primary reason for me to emigrate. Would I be better if I like it? Does my opposition to communism disqualify me from being a decent US citizen? I doubt. Even now I am in opposition to Obama, and most probably to majority of people of my social background and my level of education. As George Orwell said - you need to be an intelligent and educated person to believe in such nonsense. Common folks are unable to do it. So, though being highly educated, I am with common folks. What frustrates you, me, and others in Kalyan's discourse is his visceral Bush hatred, when 'W' does not run, and his admiration with Obama. To be fair is he that different from many Americans born in this country? I doubt. Alas, the insatiable desire to follow the Prophet is very popular all over the world. That is why we still need this boy yelling 'The king is naked'. And our beloved Obama-king is naked for sure. I do not see even a fig leaf present. By the way 'kalyan' is a water-filled pipe used to for smoking tobacco, and hashish. It is widely-used in Middle East. Unfortunately I do not know an English word for it.

Josh's comment:

"You're commentary is so utterly partisan that one cannot take it seriously. It belongs on the playground"

is extraordinarily revealing.

1. In typical liberal "debate-fashion" he needs simply to "label and dismiss" the author of a contrary opinion to his own.
2. Josh infers that because a position may be partisan, it somehow has no merit, as if a non-partisan position is a prerequisite to believability.
2. Having labeled the opposing position as unworthy of discussion he fails to provide facts (or even opinions) to bolster his own opinion.
4. Finally he seeks to diminish the argument by blowing smoke, the typical "hey, look over there" to change to direction of the discussion.
Evidently these "debate devices" are deemed sufficient counters to a reasonable discussion of an issue.

So anonymous' argument appeals to the "he's just as dumb as Bush" benchmark.

Very convincing and well thought out. It's obvious why you sign yourself as anonymous.

Don't forget, George W. Bush, blah blah blah blah blah ...

So according to your Lefty logic, the following would indicate rational decison-making:

Company hires a guy to head up a division. He's responsible for 3 major areas: directing all of the employees in the division, directing the security of the firm, and directing the firm's foreign offices.

He's a complete incompetent, destroying the cohesion of the company's employee culture, mismanages the company's security personnel so that the company is hated all over the world, and just generally pisses off all the foreign markets where the company does business.

So the guy retires. And who does the board of directors nominate to clean up the mess? A college professor who has no experience WHATSOEVER in any of the 3 areas of expertise needed for the job.

Well, with logic like that, it's easy to understand why you Leftists hate private enterprise so much. The fundamentals are obviously too difficult to grasp.

If y'all took 5 minutes to think rationally, you'd understand why he is the biggest disaster to hit the White House.

Is this thread about George Bush, Anonymous?

But we know, Anonymous. Life is scary. And it's comforting to be able to blame everything on The Bushy Man!!! And it's good to have Santabama's visit in November to look forward to! "Yay!!! Did you bring me stolen money from oil companies, Santabama?!?"

Unfortunately, you Leftists have been naughty for years, and I'm starting to have a bad feeling that 'ol Big Ears just might not make it into the house this year.

@ Leon

Whoa, big fella, whoa. I have no issue with non-Americans, and hope that you didn't read my post as an attack on them.

Kalyan has been at this for a month or two - you say black, he says white. I'm only asking that he rein it in and debate in a more adult manner.

Evidently these "debate devices" are deemed sufficient counters to a reasonable discussion of an issue.

For Leftists, they most certainly are, NCMike! Because for Leftists, the point isn't to win the argument...it's to win the day!

It's one of the Rules for Radicals set forth by their Marxist hero, Saul Alinsky:

RULE 5: "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."

They understand that 40+ years of Leftist control of our news media, entertainment industry, and educational system have savaged the traditional focus on reason and logic in Western (though I should say, Anglo-Western) Civilization and replaced it with a mindless focus on emotional appeals to stupidly vague concepts such as "social justice" and "progressive thought". And as such, they understand that when you're dealing with dumbed-down people, you don't appeal to reason...you appeal to emotion!

The thing that's astounding to me is this: considering the death-grip they've had on all of the aforementioned cultural institutions for the past 40+ year, it's amazing to me that there's any resistance left at all...much less, the fact that the split has generally been about 50/50 in terms of political strength. It's almost as if people have a natural immunity to their bullsh!t...which really shouldn't be much of a surprise, seeing how the Western populace has been exposed to it for a few hundred years now.

O'bots -- I love that!

Anonymous! Chickapoopski! You have made your Uncle Karl proud as punchy peaches. The indoctrination took! You are pregnant with Communism! Red blessings on your confused half-formed mind! You totally lack any reasonable rational objectivity. It works! You cannot think critically...its all opinions and FEELINGS. You have been well conditioned by my enslaved public education system. You have bought into my fake implanted history of the people's eternal class struggle against imperialist Wall St. swine! Howie Zinn's comic books enthralled you!
The infected fleas from my Bushy beard have sucked your proletarian blood and injected my Martian thought control spirochetes. All those years of research on little mice, bunnies, and baby ducks have paid off! It also works on my little pocket chihuahua 'Ninotchka'...who salivates and shivers when the capitalist pig vampire landlord darkens my garret door...(or mother Marx insists I quit borrowing from all the suckers buying into my learned 'scholar and theorist' dodge and seek gainful employment.)
Oy! The guilt! Uh oh...I must depart out of my little window to the rooftops...its the first of the month...rent is due...my doggie is vibrating.

This is a great essay. Written well and so darn true. My relatives who became Conservatives after 9/11 are amazed that Obama would even get this far. I think that for people in the haze of romance with this man - or, rather, the idea of what he is supposed to be - they will not want to see just how shallow and cynical he really is. You can see Democratic strategists on TV who have to defend Obama at times taking an extra second or two to be able to gulp down their uncomfortableness. And to think, he might become President of the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world? Now, if that doesn't scare you, you have to be drinking some really fine Kool-Aid.

Any of our candidates pose problems for us, and at least we KNOW Obama made verifiable great grades at Harvard, so even if there are gaffes, misteps and so forth, Obamas abilty to think first class is all I need to take my vote as things stand today. Thank you.

"at least we KNOW Obama made verifiable great grades at Harvard"

Really? I wasn't aware he'd released his transcripts yet. Cool....you have a link there, buddy?

By the way, Obama's ability to "think first class" (whatever that means...) hasn't been very impressive so far. In fact, there hasn't been a lot of 'thinking' emanating from his campaign speeches inasmush as there has been nothing but cheesy feel-good rhetoric. But, I guess that leads right back to the point of this article, which is Emperor Obama's new clothes are as transparent as his Hope-changeitude promises.

Excellent article....Barry is a real "Empty Suit"....how so many Libs can be so stupid is truly scary. I have to continue to believe that this clown will never see the inside of the White House....unless it via a tour. That is my "Hope".

I can't get past the clueless idea of tire gauges. Reminds me of Jimmy Carter - literal fireside chat, wearing a sweater and telling us to wear our sweaters, too, because of the oil embargo. That was 30 years ago, and the Democrats have only made it worse with repeated bans on drilling ever since.

If this has to be approved by the site owner, likely it won't get posted. It appears from what I'm reading, that the party, only post the ones which agree, with them.

My opinion is this article is stupid and biases. We know the Emperors New Clothes is about George W. Bush, and nobody else can fit them, as will as he. I realize McCain is trying to fit into them, but, he is just a little lacky for Bush and his Administation of Crooks and Liars, of whom many he plans to keep in his own administration.

So, things can proceed, unchanged. Unchanged, exactly, and Bush will still be ruling from the "Ranch" over the cell phone, and still wearing the Emperors New Clothes.

More propaganda crap to support lazy, sleepy, senile McCain, and his AIPAC cronies.

You got it right, except for one thing-- the inspiration for Andersen's fairy tale was George W. Bush.

Those Americans who voted for him, twice, should fall on their knees in shame and beg the forgiveness of the rest of the people who share this planet.

If they can't see that yet, after what he has done, god help us all.

Your article and the Obama bashers who agree with its lies are a hateful bunch of racists engaging in unsubstantiated, blatant lies about Senator Obama, simply because he is Black and its killing you that he might become PRESIDENT. No other reason no matter how you couch your disapproval of him, it's racist. And some, if not most of you hating on Senator Obama are second and third generation Are new to America compared to African Americans who have been here since the 1500's and helped "build" this country. So, shut up and get on line! Senator Obama is wise, brilliant, and Harvard educated, and has taught on the university level. Yet you lie that he has to be "corrected" by his staff concerning the middle east, when McCain doesn't know the difference between a shia and a shiite and can't even keep track of his wealth. Yet you label Senator Obama the "most unqualified candidate for president, ever." Have you lived in a sound-proof bubble for the past 8 years of Bush's incompetency, his gaffes, his deception that led us to war, and the worst economic crisis since the depression of thr 1930's. All of you need to look deep in your hearts and recognize that you are prejudiced against Senator Obama only because he is African American and your prejudice is flavoring the koolade of hatred and white supremacy that you are drinking. With people like you going to the polls, God help our country. We are doomed to fall further behind the rest of the world. The U.S. used to be Number ONE among nations. Now, we are Number EIGHT. All of you who are seeking to impede America's progress by denying the most qualified candidate the right to lead us to prosperity need to pack up and LEAVE the country so the rest of us can move forward successfully into the 21st century!!
