artfldgr---way to go dude!! I'm a retired ranger, history nut, and conservative political junkie. I've been connecting dots for months now. I took your suggestion and checked out 'Highlander School'. Wowie Zowie!! I went to the 132 page FBI pdf on those guys and their communist roots. Ya think Eleanor Roosevelt's connection made J. Edgar squirm just a bit? They are now 'Highlander Research and Education Center' with venerable roots in the 'Social Justice' movements of the 30's. I thought of those distinguished modern educators Ayres, Dohrn and Cornel West. Thanks for the enlightening link suggestion. Now I'm really peeved. Allow me to quote a letter to Mr. Hoover from a concerned citizen in 1940:

thanks for taking the time to look. the disgusting part of highlander wasnt actually the subversive stuff.. no it was the purchasing of houses in white neigborhoods, moving blacks in, and blowing them up... (as well as leftists lynching them to "make history" rather than react to it. after all, in all these years i have yet to hear anyone point out that these actions were not by people of the south!)

i knew a ranger once.. thank you for your service sir, some, like me, do apprecaite it, even if we cant serve.

you will find that i tend to be there when people report bad history, bad science, etc.

while i dont subscribe to an ideology, i do subscribe to peopel having ideas, and they finding things out for themselves. then if they want to still march off to a hell of their own making, thats fine with me.

i may not agree with anything you say, but i will fight to the death your right to say it.

while this is marines, and rangers are army... id give you a semper fi, but thats marines, and i dont want to insult you!!!! but accept that my heart is in the right place
